Saint-Maurice abbey

The Clervaux abbey overlooks the valley. This Romanesque Revival-style abbey was built in 1909-1910 by the Benedictine monks of Saint-Maru de Glanfeuil abbey. The monks still live there today and gather seven times a day for services. When you visit, stop by the crypt where you can discover the life and work of the Benedictines thanks to the photo exhibition. For those who wish to take part, mass is celebrated every day at 10.30 am.

This photographic exhibition has been on the UNESCO world heritage list since 2003 and comprises 503 photos taken by 273 artists from around the world. Here, you can see a set of post-war humanist photos set up by Edward Steichen, the director of the photography department at MoMa (New York). He addresses 37 different topics such as love, faith in human beings, birth, work, family, education, children, war and peace. Hike in the Luxembourg Ardennes

Clervaux is an ideal starting point for hikes along over 150 kilometres of trails in the Luxembourg Ardennes. Head off for a walk along the Our, Clerve or Wiltz and admire stunning views of the surrounding region. No two views are the same.
